~Chain Addiction~
We both have ashtrays
His is full of cigarrettes
Mine is full of gum

~A Rose~
Oh, what's in a name
If only I could tell them
What it means to me

~God~
What am I, you ask
I am everything at once
And nothing at all

~The Question~
You ask me: why?
I say to you: who? How? Where?
My answer: why not?

~A new Face for Marlie~
The girl in the mask that screams wide
wears a tribal symbol of the tide
of the human heart with its highs and lows,
wide spread eyes and flat nose.
A strong soul within the shell of a girl,
young and beautiful with black pearl
eyes that look out through the mask,
pleading, begging, they silently ask
to take away her pain today.
Give her the chance to run and play.
Pray to the Savior and his son
that a miricle can be done.
Ask the Holy one to bend
the mask and face to mend.
She hides her face behind this mask
of skull and bone and skin.
Why must she hide her face you ask?
Because her soul is trapped within.

~Doll Like~
Narry a sound she would make
with every step she would take
was nothing more than a pitter patter.

A pitter patter that matched her heart.
Now, here's the truely strang part:
her heart beat as only as long as she moved.

And to move she had to breathe.
But in breath she did not beleive.
So she didn't draw any air.

Without any ai to draw,
and this was quite a sight I saw,
for without breathe she had no heartbeat.

But if her hearbeat matched her walk,
and she had no breath to talk,
she merely sat and stood still.

~Cherades~
It is a game.
It is a dance.
It is something
we cannot chance.

We must decifer.
We must guess.
Before time's out
or they'll be a mess.

Find your way
out of this maze.
One word,
two syllables:
College.

~The Sleepwalker~
She pulls her hatbrim down low
to hide her tired, weary eyes
and pull shadows to her sullen face.

She pulls her collar high up
to look small within her jacket
and sticker her hands in her pockets.

Her burden pulls her down.
Her shoulders ache as she moves.
She walks with a limp.

She walks toward her destination
and does not see, does not know.
She doesn't need to know where to go.

Her feet know where to carry her.
She walks forward with closed eyes.
The Sleepwalker; late to her next class.
The first four are haikus, the middle ones are just kinda random, and the last two are about my experience at college thus far. This semester hit me a littler harder than I expected. A lot of things see to be happening at once, so I just have to deal with it...and vent through poetry.

omg! I really love Doll Like and A New Face for Marlie...
And what better way to vent than to write pretty poetry?
